Pinic at the park

I am so blessed! Holy cow! Today we had BEAUTIFUL weather!! Its been gorgeous out the past few days but things haven't allowed for us to enjoy the weather as much as I would like for us to! Until today.... :D Nathanael had the morning off so we decided to have a picnic at the park! It was wonderful and refreshing to spend some quality time with my little family. I feel like I got to reconnect with my hubby and see my baby girl enjoy the gifts that God has given us. I feel less stressed (I write this as my daughter sits on the floor ripping paper from a notebook and tossing it around her ;D), rejuvenated and happy! Its amazing what a little fresh air and vitamin D can do for the soul.

Nathanael and I used to have picnics all the time while miss Lydia was cooking but since shes been here life has been a bit more hectic. It was wonderful getting to see her experience her first REAL picnic (sheet on the ground and everything!). She was enthralled with the wind blowing and the birds chirping. She even enjoyed when the train passed by. Made me realize that I don't, by any means, take enough time out to enjoy what has been given to me and be thankful for it. I mean really.... when was the last time you clapped cause the wind blew? Ha. The little things are what make up the bigger picture. I need to remember to be thankful for the little things, the big things too, but the little things that I don't often remember. I need to remember to set aside specific time to enjoy those things so I can remember to be thankful for them! Make time away from cleaning, washing clothes, running errands, and whatever else. Thank you Lydia for helping me remember that!
I hope you all had a beautiful day! Enjoy the small stuff!

  1. Isn't it amazing how much our kids teach us! I'm glad you got to enjoy today, too. I almost passed up an impromptu soccer practice with my boys b/c I wanted to get home to finish chores. I'm so glad I didn't! We all needed that time to connect and get some sunshine. We all need to remember to set aside time for the small stuff. :) Thanks for the reminder!
